Memorabilia From Bali

This work I show off on event Cooking and History at Cemeti Art House in 2004 with Taxu Art Clinic when still intact and solid. The idea is about the tragedy of mass murder in Bali in 1956 that political and economic background, where the victims are those who officially form the Indonesian Communist Party members but also in the great tragedies of the many civilian casualties than usual with a different motive. This work was titled Memorabilia From Bali Land, because before we worked we did a little research in many survivals around the island, visiting the farm where the alleged mass killings and from where I collect things that exist and made this artwork with the addition of various figures from Balinese puppets and make it light brackets where the object is used in ceremonies or during funeral ceremonies in Bali called Ngaben.

So great was the wound from the “face of mother earth,” where I stand this, but so great is also a desire to remain covered with various kinds of thick powder but any thick powder that is used to cover scar in our face, the wound remains to be wound, the wound should be recognized because carelessness and mistakes themselves and hence will not be repeated in the future.
